OBIEE 11g RCU Meta Data Change

Every one aware RCU is mandatory to install OBIEE 11g.When we install RCU it creates two schemas

1.       DEV_BIPLATFORM (Used by Weblogic and OBIEE)

2.       DEV_MDS (Used by Weblogic)

If you want to change the metadata repository of RCU to some other database due to various reasons, we can change the RCU repository metadata from one instance to another instance without impacting the current installed OBIEE11g environment. Below are the detail steps.

Login to Weblogic Admin Console 

Navigate to Services >> Datasources

Click on bip_datasource and click on connection pool

 

Click on “Lock & Edit” button

Update the following information like host name, instance and password as shown above and do the same for all data sources (EMPsystemregistry, mds-owsm), save and “Activate changes”.

 

Login into Enterprise Manager

Go to Business intelligence folder >> coreapplication >> Deployment  >> Scheduler

Click on “Lock and Edit Configuration“, update the datasource details. “Activate Changes” ,  and click on “Restart Services” .
