DAC Config Installation

DAC CONFIGURATION
  • Extraction Of the Software
  1. Download the zipped DAC folder to the installation server from the windows virtual machine
  2. Extract the DAC folder to the /u02 directory.
  • DAC Configuration
  1. Run the Dac Client by running the “Start client.bat” as follows
  1. From the dac client, Click the Configure button
  1. Select Create Connection option and click next
  2. Enter the details in the dialog that appears as follows and click on the “Authentication File” option.
  3. Select “Create Authentication File” in the dialog that appears and click ok.                                
  4. Provide the name for the Authentication file and save it.
  5. Give in the details regarding the DAC database user to generate the authentication key.
  6. After the configuration, click on the test connection to see if the details fed in are correct or not and click “Apply” to save the connection details; then click finish.
  7. Then select the connection created from the list, type in the username and password; Select the authentication type to DAC and click on login.
  1. Which leads to the requirement of tablespace name which is optional so we proceed with no value provided by clicking YES.
  2. Provide the user name and password for the DAC Repository and click OK.
  3. Where we will be prompted for login credentials preferred for the DAC.
  4. DAC Client will be started.
  • DAC Server Configuration
  1. Click on Tools→ Dac-Repository → Import
  2. From the following dialog, select the appropriate containers for our test server.   Select the truncate Repository tables option and enable the bulk load option. After selecting the containers, Universal, Data Warehouse, Oracle 11.5.10, Oracle R12.
  3. When we are finished, click OK. Which gives rise to the following dialog. Give in the same seen in the dialog and click on Yes.   after which, the containers selected will be imported to the DAC server                                            
  4. Select Tools → DAC server Management → Repository Configuration.
  1. In the repository configuration dialog, enter the host, alternate host, port details for the DAC server.
  2. Thus DAC server configuration is done.
  • DAC SERVER START.
From the console environment, run standaloneServerSetupPrompt.sh and perform the following steps.

  • After the successful configuration, start the DAC server by running the startserver.sh from console/putty.
  • Informatica Configuration on DAC-TEST

  1. Click on the setup tab in the dac main window.
  2. Select the informatica server tab on the right pane and enter the details about the informatica Repository service by selecting it.
  1. Then click on test connection. Since the test was successful, click OK and save the details. (The following is the details in the above dialog).

  1. Click on the physical datasources tab in the right pane of setup and fill in the details of the souce system details in the oracle 11.5.10(thin) as follows.
Later configure the details of the target in the data warehouse connection as follows

    Failure connecting to "informatica_repository"!

    ANOMALY INFO::: Error while pinging informatica repository server
    MESSAGE:::D:\dac\log\pmrepConnect.log (The system cannot find the file specified)
    EXCEPTION CLASS::: java.io.FileNotFoundException
