Installing Oracle OBIEE 12c in Windows 7


Download the file from the below link
Extract the file so that you have fmw_12.2.1.0.0_infrastructure.jar
Click Next
Click Next
Specify the OBIEE Location Path
Click Next
Click Next
Check the Checkbox
Click Yes

Click Install
Click Next


Now install SetupBI_platform

Click Next
Click Next
Specify the Path
Specify the ORACLE_HOME path
Click Next

Click Next

Configuring RCU

Now Goto

D:\OBIEE12C\Middleware\Oracle_Home\oracle_common\bin

There you the RCU setup File

Click Next

Give the Database Connection Details


Give the Database Connection Details

Now goto
D:\OBIEE12C\Middleware\Oracle_Home\bi\bin


Click Config.exe



we can rename the username

    I'm facing a strange issue. At the end of the configuration while the BI components were getting started, I received errors saying "nqsserver.exe stopped working". Installation was completed successfully though. But the Presentation server is not coming up. All the other services are showing alive. When I try to start the PS manually, I receive the same errors "nqserver.exe stopped working" and the BI Server also goes down automatically. Any thoughts on this please?

      Yeah because Windows 7, Windows 2003/2003R2 and Windows 2008/2008R2 are not certified platform for OBIEE 12c Installation. Please check the certification matrix which will confirm the same. The only certified windows platform for OBIEE 12c is Windows Server 2012 R2.

    if i create repository once and configure rcu and i happen to reinstall clean the database with same location will those configurations work?

    I am getting error as follows, please update me the solution

    ERROR - RCU-6002 Prerequisite validation failed.
    CAUSE - RCU-6002 The minimum requirements to load metadata repository were not met for the specified database.
    ACTION - RCU-6002 Modify the database configuration to meet the prerequisite requirements.

    ERROR - RCU-6080 Global prerequisite check failed for the specified database.
    CAUSE - RCU-6080 Global prerequisite check failed. Check requirement for the specified database.
    ACTION - RCU-6080 Modify the database configuration to meet the global prerequisite requirements.
    The selected Oracle database is a multitenant container database (CDB). Connecting to a multitenant container database (CDB) is not supported. Instead, connect to a valid pluggble database (PDB).
